Silver Boat

by Leena Rajkotia, age 9
Silver Boat This poem is from Leena's first book of poetry, "The Waves of Life". Leena is a nine-year-old who is passionate about civil rights and is learning about lucid dreaming - and beginning to put it into practice! She lives with her parents, her twin sister, and little brother. Leena likes to write poetry about darkness, beauty and the state of the world.

“Its oars blossom with golden moss
Its body rotting beautifully
This boat is mine, I love it dearly
I have to trust that it will hold me”

Enchanting is my silver boat.

Among the canoes it floats

Its oars blossom with golden moss

Its body rotting beautifully

This boat is mine, I love it dearly

I have to trust that it will hold me
